What is the Not What I Ordered World Tour?
The full name is Matt Mathews: Not What I Ordered World Tour. It is a stand-up comedy tour, and it is the first time the Birmingham, Alabama comedian has taken his show outside North America. When it was announced on May 18, 2026, early press lists counted somewhere between 63 and 74 dates. Since then, city after city has added a second, later show, and the run is now well past 100 performances.
Presales started on May 19, 2026 and the general on-sale followed on May 21. The tour kicked off in Burlington on September 11, then played Syracuse, San Jose, Redding and two nights in Rancho Mirage before heading into Canada and the Pacific Northwest. Why is it called Not What I Ordered?
The tour title shares its idea with his single “Not What You Ordered”, released on August 21, 2026. Look closely and you will spot the difference: the tour is Not What I Ordered, the song is Not What You Ordered. If you are searching streaming apps for the track, use “You”. His official site simply announces the single as out now. Matt has not published a line-by-line explanation of the title, so we will not invent one, but anyone who has watched his videos knows that life rarely arrives the way you ordered it.
What is the new show about?
According to the official tour copy, this is a new hour of brutally honest stand-up built around stories about relationships, family, fame, farm life, mental health and everyday chaos. Expect long, personal stories rather than rapid one-liners, and expect adult language and themes. Most theatres suggest the show for audiences 18 and over, and casino venues are usually 21+. How is it different from Boujee On A Budget?
Boujee On A Budget was his previous tour. It sold more than 250,000 tickets, included multiple nights at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium and ended up as a full special that is free to watch on YouTube. Not What I Ordered is a fresh hour of material, and it is a much bigger map: his first shows in Australia, New Zealand, the UK and Ireland, plus casinos, theatres and a few arenas across the US and Canada. If you have already watched the Boujee special, this is not a repeat of it.
When does the tour reach each region?
- Canada and the West, September 2026: Calgary (Sept 25), Coquitlam (Sept 26) and Tacoma (Sept 27).
- US fall run, October to December 2026: from Pittsburgh and Wilkes-Barre through Memphis (Nov 19 and 22) to Jacksonville on December 19.
- Australia and New Zealand, January 2027: Auckland, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.
- UK and Ireland, March 2027: Birmingham, Manchester, London, Dublin and Glasgow. Several of these are already sold out.
- US spring run, February to May 2027: including Atlanta (Feb 12 and 13), New York’s Beacon Theatre (Apr 9) and St. Louis (May 14).
- Finale, June 2027: Winnipeg, Carlton and Bowler. These three were first listed for December 2026 and moved to June 10-12, 2027, so ignore any old December listings you find online.
